#8 PEI Open House | Working for Inclusion: Economic Inclusion in Contexts of Forced Displacement

The number of forcibly displaced people has now surpassed 100 million for the first time, fueled by the war in Ukraine and other ongoing conflicts.

At the same time, economic inclusion programs for the extreme poor and vulnerable are proliferating, with a growing number led by governments. Increasingly these two developments are intersecting. An estimated 30 percent of economic inclusion programs included people living in contexts of forced displacement, including refugees, internally displaced people, and members of hosting communities.

This Open House, and last of the season, presented the latest findings from a review of the global landscape and shared experiences from government representatives, NGOs, and other experts, and marked the launch of a new In Practice publication on the same theme that you can find it by clicking here.
